Everton concern: Lucas Digne forced off during Chelsea clash

Everton were this afternoon dealt a potential blow on the injury front, after Lucas Digne limped off during the club’s win over Chelsea.

Chelsea downed

The Toffees welcomed Frank Lampard’s men to Goodison Park a short time ago, for their latest Premier League clash.

The matchup came as Everton’s first following Marco Silva’s sacking, with Duncan Ferguson having been handed interim duties for this afternoon’s proceedings.

And the club legend’s influence certainly had the desired effect, as the hosts eventually ran out 3-1 winners.

Strikes from Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin (2) eventually proved the difference between the sides, as Everton surged 4 places clear of the Premier League relegation zone.

Digne forced off

An otherwise positive afternoon for the Merseysiders, however, was soured somewhat by a concerning blow on the injury front.

The player to have picked up the problem was Lucas Digne.

After initially going to ground with a groin problem, French stopper Digne was seen to by the Everton medical team, before being ushered off the pitch.

The former Barcelona man, though, soon returned to the action, but was unable to see out the remainder of the clash, eventually limping off to be replaced by Leighton Baines 8 minutes from time:

Elsewhere, Theo Walcott also appeared to pick up a knock, though the winger’s issue did not look a serious one:
