Everton are ‘very close’ to agreeing a deal to sign their new manager following the sacking of Sam Allardyce this morning.
That manager comes in the form of former Watford boss Marco Silva who is available following his sacking back in January.
The Portuguese boss was incredibly impressive in the early stages of this season with the Hornets as they pushed for the top six.
Though, an approach from Everton very quickly changed that as the clubs season derailed as quick as it started.
The Toffees offered Watford in the region of £12million for their manager and Silva started to agitate for the move.
Watford were not giving in though, and threatened to report Everton to the Premier League over an illegal approach.
That lead to the Vicarage Road boss staying but all would not go back to normal.
The results soon dried up and he was later sacked.
Now, O Jogo are reporting that Silva is close to joining Everton.
Sam Allardyce was sacked this morning to make room for the former Hull boss after issues with the fans.
Everton supporters were unhappy with the football that was on show under Allardyce and pushed him towards the door.
Though, there are said to be issues with hiring Silva with Watford looking for compensation from the club hire him.
Though, according to the report, it looks as though that problem has now been resolved.
Time will tell, but it looks as though Marco Silva will be the new Everton boss.
