Erling Haaland makes brutally honest admission over Manchester City penalty

Erling Haaland scored a penalty for Manchester City on Saturday.

Manchester City faced off with Fulham in a Premier League clash, looking to regain ground on Arsenal, who play on Sunday.

City took the lead, but were pegged back after Joao Cancelo gave away a penalty and was sent off.

Erling Haaland then came on and had a goal disallowed. However, the Norwegian stepped up later in the second half to score a penalty.

Haaland has now scored three penalties for City. Speaking after the match, the 22-year-old admitted that he was extremely nervous when he stepped up to the spot, explaining his weak effort:

“Nervous. One of the most nervous moments of my life,” Haaland said when asked how he felt before the penalty. “Why do you think? Of course, because it’s a penalty in the last minute, of course, I’m nervous like anybody else would be. It was an amazing feeling.

“I love it [pressure]. I’ve been injured for one week now, it’s amazing to get the win and three important points. It’s tough not to play, I want to play every game. In the end we need three points and that’s exactly what we got. I’m so tired and so happy, you have no idea.”

Rodri, though, seemed less concerned about Haaland’s ability from 12 yards:

“I was going to take the responsibility of the penalty, but I saw him and I think these guys are prepared for these situations, that’s why I gave him the ball,” Rodri said.

“He’s a killer and he needed three touches to score three goals. One was disallowed and the other was in. I wanted also to give him some confidence after coming back [from injury], so yeah, he’s a massive player for us.”
