Pogba to Real Madrid?
Paul Pogba had an up and down 2018/19 season.
The Frenchman struggled to find any sort of form under Jose Mourinho at the beginning of the season.
When Mourinho was sacked and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was appointed, though, Pogba finally began to step up.
During Solskjaer’s first six games at Old Trafford, Pogba would score five and assist four.
However, in United’s last 10 league games of the season, Pogba scored just two and assisted none.
Despite this, the midfielder is still being linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer, as they look to rebuild their squad.
Eriksen & Tielemans eyed as replacements
According to the Evening Standard, Ed Woodward does not want to sell Pogba this summer.
Despite this, he has apparently begun to draw up a shortlist of replacements for Pogba, should he leave.
Two of these players are believed to be Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen and Monaco’s Youri Tielemans.
In a recent interview, Eriksen expressed a desire to move on from Spurs this summer, claiming that he would like to try something new:
“I feel that I am a place in my career where I might want to try something new.
“I have the wildest and deepest respect for everything that has happened at Tottenham – I will not be negative. But I have also said that I would like to try something new.
“I hope there will be a resolution during the summer. That’s the plan.” As quoted by Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet.
As for Youri Tielemans, he spent the second half of 2018/19 on loan at Leicester City, where he played 13 games, scoring three and assisting five.
Tottenham and Leicester are also said to be vying for the Belgian’s services.
