Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag has opted to sanction the departures of two high-profile members of his first-team setup, according to reports.
The players in question? Fred, and Harry Maguire.
As per a report from The Guardian’s Jamie Jackson, stopper Maguire, long the target of widespread criticism on the part of the Red Devils faithful, is finally set to see his Old Trafford nightmare brought to an end in 2023.
This comes with boss Ten Hag having evidently seen enough.
The England international, in turn, will be made available for transfer next summer, in a bid to recoup funds for use on other areas of United’s squad deemed to be in need of reinforcement.

Maguire, though, will not be the only Reds star on the move ahead of the 2023/2024 campaign.
Joining the former Leicester City star in making his way through the door on the red half of Manchester is expected to be midfielder Fred.
Another oft-maligned long-time member of the senior setup at the Theatre of Dreams, Fred, like Maguire, has fallen down the pecking order in Manchester over the early months of the new campaign.
This comes on the back of the summer arrivals of both Casemiro and Christian Eriksen.
In turn, The Guardian point towards the Red Devils as being prepared to allow Fred to simply find a new club, upon the expiration of his contract next June.
