Maurizio Sarri has enjoyed a great start to life as Chelsea boss going undefeated in his first six league games.
However, Eden Hazard says he will judge Sarri’s quality once the Blues have had a bad spell.
‘He is a great manager, but it’s easy to say when you are winning games’
Speaking about Sarri, Hazard stated:
“We try to keep the ball. When you are an offensive player you just want to keep the ball.
We create a lot of passes and chances. Yesterday we had a bit of trouble [against West Ham] but I think the beginning of the season was great.
“He is a great manager, but it’s easy to say when you are winning games. We will see in a bad moment. For sure he is a great manager, and he showed that to the world.”
Hazard’s team-mate N’Golo Kante has also commented upon working under Sarri:
“I am enjoying the role [under Sarri].
“It is a new challenge for me.
“I try to understand the move and the right players’ combinations.
“I think we are doing well. We need to keep working and keep improving and I think we can enjoy a good season together.”
Hazard under Sarri
Eden Hazard returned to Chelsea preseason training late due to the World Cup.
As a result, Hazard did not start Chelsea’s first two league games of the season.
However, that did not stop Hazard coming off the bench in both games to earn two assists.
Hazard would then start Chelsea’s third game of the season vs Newcastle United and would score a crucial goal in their 2-1 win.
The Belgian would once again get on the scoresheet vs Bournemouth with Chelsea winning 2-0.
Hazard then bagged himself a hat-trick as Chelsea beat newly-promoted Cardiff 4-1.
The winger then started for Chelsea vs West Ham. But the game finished 0-0 with Hazard having perhaps his worst display of the season.
