Eden Hazard leads Europe’s top 5 leagues after pair of assists vs Watford

Chelsea ease past Watford

Chelsea and Watford went head-to-head at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Maurizio Sarri’s side entered the clash aware that a win would see them move up to 3rd place in the Premier League table, and give them a huge boost in the race for a Champions League spot.

Watford had the better of the chances in the opening exchanges, but Ruben Loftus-Cheek would come off the bench and put Chelsea ahead in the 48th minute.

David Luiz then doubled Chelsea’s lead just three minutes later.

On-loan forward Gonzalo Higuain then secured all three points for Chelsea, making it 3-0 in the 75th minute.

Hazard the assist king

Two of Chelsea’s three goals against Watford were assisted by Eden Hazard.

This brings Hazard’s tally to 16 goals and 15 assists in the Premier League this campaign.

Hazard’s 15 assists mean he has set up more goals than any other player in the top-five European leagues this term.

Despite this impressive record, though, Hazard still didn’t manage to make it into the PFA Premier League team of the Year.
