Chelsea star Eden Hazard has this evening spoken out once again over the possibility that he could depart the Premier League for Spanish giants Real Madrid.
27-year-old Belgian attacker Hazard has been plying his trade at Stamford Bridge for 6 years now, having made the move to London from Ligue 1 outfit Lille in 2012.
And the gifted wide-man has since gone on to establish himself as not only Chelsea’s star man, but also one of, if not the finest player in the Premier League.
However, despite his talismanic status in the English capital, Hazard has nevertheless long been linked with a potential Blues’ exit.
Real Madrid links
European champions Real Madrid have been the club most persistently-touted as a potential destination for the Belgian international, with Los Blancos no doubt on the lookout for a marquee attacking signing following their loss of Cristiano Ronaldo this past summer, since compounded by an altogether underwhelming start to the season.
To their credit, Chelsea have rejected any and all offers that have come their way for the club’s star man thus far, but Real, for their part, have seemingly not been deterred by the stubbornness of the Blues.
Reports emanating from Spain last week even went as far as to suggest that Hazard has already agreed terms with Los Blancos regarding a move to the Bernabeu next summer.
‘Up to me’
Whether this turns out to be the case or not, obviously remains to be seen.
As such, unsurprisingly, when speaking during an interview with French outlet RMC earlier today, Hazard was questioned on both his future at Stamford Bridge, and the possibility that he could soon make the move to La Liga.
And the Belgian’s reply, as outlined below, will likely not fill too many Chelsea fans with confidence:
‘I have always liked Real Madrid as a club, with or without Zidane. At the end of this year I have 1 year left on my Chelsea contract. We will see, it’ll be up to me to make the decision.’
