As well as coming away with zero points, Bournemouth suffered a big injury blow, as Charlie Daniels had to be withdrawn.

Daniels missed the end of last season due to a knee problem and it appears he is once again dealing with a similar issue.

On Tuesday the 27th of August, Eddie Howe gave this update on the defender:

“He is seeing someone tomorrow for a scan on his knee and for some analysis of what happened.

“It was the different knee (to last season) and we hope it’s not too serious but we’ll wait and see.

“Football can be a very cruel sport in so many different ways, you have a player who has worked so hard to get back and done everything to get back.” As quoted by Bournemouth’s official website.
