Eddie Howe gives Bournemouth injury update pre-Liverpool

Liverpool vs Bournemouth

Bournemouth travel to Anfield on Saturday as they look to bounce back from the Cardiff defeat.

The Cherries start the weekend 10th in the league, five points off 7th place Wolves.

Bournemouth’s form has improved slightly in recent weeks with Eddie Howe’s side winning two of their last three.

However, their last game did see them lose 2-0 to 18th place Cardiff.

Luckily for Bournemouth though, Liverpool are having a slight dip in form.

After being, at one stage, seven points clear of 2nd spot, the Reds now find themselves level on points with Manchester City.

City do, however, have a game in hand on Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Even so, Liverpool have drawn their last two games 1-1 vs Leicester City and West Ham.

Neither of these sides were in great form before their games with Liverpool.

So, Bournemouth will be hoping for a similar outcome this weekend.

Bournemouth injury update

Speaking in his pre-match press conference before Liverpool, Eddie Howe has provided an injury update on three players.

Callum Wilson and David Brooks have been key players for Bournemouth this season with Wilson their top scorer.

However, the duo will remain sidelined for around four weeks.

Bournemouth will also make a late call on the fitness of Jefferson Lerma ahead of Liverpool:

“Callum Wilson and David Brooks are still out, possibly out for around four weeks now.

“We are waiting on a fitness test for Jefferson Lerma as well.”
