Metro & Tottenham’s Danny Rose

If you didn’t think the Metro could be any crappier, they’ve arguably hit rock bottom.

It’s a popular item on Monday mornings for news outlets to compile their team of the week, however the Metro completely cocked up their selection this week.

It all centres around Spurs left-back Danny Rose.

Rose was injured while on international duty for England, and the defender missed out on last weekend’s 4-0 away win at Stoke.

Welsh defender Ben Davies played in Rose’s place at the Bet365 Stadium.

Rose in the team of the week

Incredibly, the Metro still managed to crowbar Rose into their Premier League team of the week.

For the record, not only did Rose earn a spot in the Metro XI, but the free paper also wrote the following.

Rose was one of the many Spurs stars to finally hit their straps after a steady start to the campaign, contributing at both ends of the pitch to ensure the north Londoners came away with all three points.

Great reporting!

In fairness, Metro have since changed their report to include Davies instead of Rose, but not before everyone took screenshots of the error.

Thank you!
