Watford celebrate goal v Spurs

Kabasele & Holebas confront furious Watford fans after Southampton (Video)

Southampton 1 – Watford 0

Watford’s season went from bad to worse on Saturday as the Hornets were kicked out of the FA Cup.

Jack Stephens scored after four minutes to advance Southampton into the fifth round of the cup.

It’s been a chaotic few weeks at Watford following the sacking of Marco Silva after a 2-0 defeat at Leicester.

Javi Gracia took charge at Southampton, but he failed to get a new manager boost.

A video went viral on social media after the full time whistle at Southampton.

Watford players Christian Kabasele and Jose Holebas were confronted by group of furious Watford fans in the away stand when the players went to thank the supporters after the game.

The supporters were heard throwing insults at their players. Comments like “you’re sh*t” and “f*** off” were thrown a Kabasele and Holebas.

For the record, Kabasele and Holebas didn’t take the insults sitting down.

They both approached the fans to give them a piece of their mind, however Ben Watson was in the mix to keep all parties from getting too close to one another.

Holebas, however, did seem to gesture for one fan to ‘come down’ for a closer conversation.

The whole episode underlies a split between the fans and the players.

They’ve lost nine of their last 13 matches. Plus they’ve only picked up two wins in that period: one of those was against Bristol City in the last round of the FA Cup.

Watford return to action on Wednesday night in a huge match at Stoke.

The Hornets may be 10th in the Premier League, but they are just four points above the drop zone.

With a new manager with zero Premier League experience in charge, they are very much in danger of relegation this season.
