Man City v Liverpool
Round four of the Premier League kicks off with a biggy as Man City take on Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium.
The match recalls one of Jurgen Klopp’s best results at Anfield. Two seasons ago, Liverpool won this fixture 4-1 and they’d dearly love to repeat that result on Saturday.
Both Liverpool and Man City have both scored seven points in their opening three matches.
Liverpool, however, have been scoring goals for fun. Indeed they stuck four past Arsenal last time out.
As for Man City, they’ve been a bit more sluggish at the start of the campaign, as Pep Guardiola moulds his squad. However the Sky Blues are definitely on the right track.
Philippe Coutinho v Man City
One of the big talking points ahead of the game centres on Philippe Coutinho.
After failing to complete a move to Barcelona in the transfer window, many are wondering how easy it will be for Coutinho to return to the Reds.
Of course, Coutinho has yet to feature for Liverpool this term. The Brazilian reportedly had a back problem, while the Brazilian national team coach Tite also noted Coutinho isn’t match fit.
With that said, it’s highly likely Coutinho sits out the Man City game.
The Times on Friday consider when Coutinho will return to Liverpool’s starting XI:
Philippe Coutinho impressed on his return to Liverpool training yesterday but Jürgen Klopp said that he may not name the forward in his side to face Manchester City tomorrow.
Klopp, the Liverpool manager, thinks that Coutinho needs to build his fitness, given that he has played 45 minutes this season in two games for Brazil.
Should Klopp leave Coutinho out against City at the Etihad Stadium then he may play in the Champions League game against Seville at Anfield on Wednesday.
