Gigio Donnarumma let in the worst goal ever vs Atalanta

AC Milan 0 – Atalanta 2

How much longer will Rino Gattuso be in charge of AC Milan?

Gattuso has failed to deliver a new manager boost having replaced Vincenzo Montella at the end of November.

After Milan were beaten 3-0 by Hellas Verona last weekend, the Rossoneri suffered another bad loss on Saturday to Atalanta.

Atalanta, who are chief rivals to Milan in the race for a top six finish, won at the San Siro thanks to goals from Bryan Cristante and Josip Ilicic.

The win pushed Atalanta into seventh in the table while Milan have slipped to 11th.

A Cristante pot shot from the edge of the box should have caused Donnarumma few problems.

But the Italian international goalie completed screwed up his job, allowing the ball to slip through his fingers and legs and into the net.

It was a carbon copy of Massimo Taibi’s famous clanger for Man United.

Thankfully Donnarumma’s blushes were spared by the ref, who had blown his whistle just before Cristante took aim at goal. The goal never stood.

Donnarumma’s Milan problem

Donnarumma’s mistake, however, revealed a lack of concentration from the teenager stopper.

This comes at a time when the 18-year-old has fallen out with large sections of the Milan crowd.

Fans turned on Donnarumma recently after reports surfaced that agent mino Raiola was trying to formulate an exit plan for the goalie.

Donnarumma signed a new Milan contract in the summer, but paper reports claim Raiola is looking to have the contract annulled.

For the moment it seems that Donnarumma is staying put. But his mistake against Atalanta continued to show his head isn’t in the right place.
