The modern goalkeeper
AC Milan and talented goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has revealed that not only does he look up to Gianluigi Buffon, he looks to learn from Manuel Neuer.
The Italian shot stopper is at an incredible level for his tender age of 18 and nearly left AC Milan in recent months.
After interest from several clubs, the player and agent Mino Raiola rejected a new contract at the club before going back on their decision.
Now, the shot stopper will remain in the Serie A but admits to looking to Germany’s Neuer to learn from.
“I always have Gigi, who’s been helping me so much, but there’s also Neuer, who’s an example,” he explained.
“I try to imitate him and learn from him.”
Whether we will see Donnarumma running to the half way line in the next few years is yet to be seen!
G. Donnarumma: "The club has done a fantastic job in the transfer market. I know some of the players because I played vs them, like Biglia."
