Diego Maradona claims Manchester United’s Jose Mourinho is world’s best manager

Big praise from football legend

Footballing legend Diego Maradona has claimed that Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is the best manager in the world.

Mourinho hasn’t had the best of times this season.

The Portuguese boss was heavily criticised for his sides slow start to the Premier League season.

There were even suggestions he could be sacked before a spirited comeback victory against Newcastle.

Now, he’s starting to get back on track after a run of decent performances.

They have drawn with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, beaten Everton and Bournemouth before a big comeback win against Juventus in Turin.

“Because he is the best without doubt”

Now, the Manchester United boss has been backed by one of football’s biggest names.

That is because Diego Maradona has claimed that Mourinho is the best manager there is.

“Myself as a coach I need to learn a lot and for that reason I think I will go to Manchester and Mourinho to ask him a lot of things,” he explained in an interview with Marca.

When asked to explain why it would be Mourinho that he spoke to, he responded: ‘Because he is the best without doubt.’

“For me yes, Mou is the best. I would give Pep the merit of taking advantage of the launch that Johan Cruyff gave him.

“I have said on more than one occasion that tiki-taka was not invented by Guardiola.

“It was ‘flaco’ Cruyff. At the moment Pep is able to choose any player in the world that he wants. That way tiki-taka is easier.”
