Diego Costa returns to force through Atletico Madrid move

Chelsea striker Diego Costa has flown back to London, according to Spanish paper Marca, as he attempts to force through a return move in January to former club Atlético Madrid.

Three months away

Diego Costa has spent three months in his home town Lagarto in Brazil, refusing to return to Chelsea.

The striker has attempted to force through a move to Atlético Madrid.

However, the move this summer never took place and Costa remains a Chelsea player.

The 28-year-old was even named in the Blues’ 25-man Premier League squad.

Conte’s pre-summer warning

What makes it very fascinating that Chelsea failed to offload Costa, was the message Antonio Conte sent the forward.

Back in June, Costa received a text from Conte saying:

“Hi Diego, I hope you are well. Thanks for the season we spent together.

Good luck for the next year but you are not in my plan.”

Although Cheslea continue to pay Costa, this makes the whole situation very unfair on him.

Ready for repercussions

Costa has returned to Chelsea and is ready to accept the club’s punishment.

According to close friends is set to return to London to comply with Cheslea.

He hopes that by doing so, the West London club will negotiate with Atletico Madrid.

Costa is currently considering training with the development squad as he looks to avoid Conte.

Teammates urge

Costa’s Chelsea teammates expect the star to return to the club.

Some of his teammates are in contact with the striker.

They are urging Costa to return to Bridge and train with them.

Diego Costa looks set to return to England, however, only to force through a move to Atletico.
