Di Marzio: PSG ready to pay Neymar’s release clause

According to a report from Italian football journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, French giants Paris Saint-Germain are preparing a world-record offer for Barcelona star Neymar.

On the move?

A number of reports broke earlier today, suggesting that Brazilian attacker Neymar is unhappy at the Camp Nou, and that he is eyeing a move away from the club over the coming months.

These stories were followed by outlets in Spain claiming that the 25-year-old’s representatives are encouraging their client to seek pastures new, so that he can once and for all step out of the shadow of teammate Lionel Messi.

And, as per the aforementioned Di Marzio report, one club are readying a record-breaking offer in the case that Neymar does indicate he is seeking a fresh challenge.

PSG are prepared to pay the eyewatering buyout clause of the South American, which stands at 222 million Euro.

President of the Ligue 1 club, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, has spoken previously of his side’s hopes to add one or two marquee names to Unai Emery’s squad this summer, as the French side look to finally take the next step up to join European football’s elite.

The capital outfit are known to hold a long-standing interest in Neymar, and may see this summer as their big chance to finally nab the Selecao superstar from Barcelona.
