Dele Alli’s classy gesture to young fan following Chelsea 1-3 Tottenham

Footage of a brilliant gesture on the part of Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli has come to the fore online this afternoon, following Spurs’ victory over Chelsea on Sunday evening.

Matchup

The two sides went head to head in a Premier League meeting at Stamford Bridge, with potentially-crucial ramifications in the race for a spot in next season’s Champions League.

Ahead of kick-off, Spurs occupied the final Champions League place, with Chelsea having sat one place and five points adrift of their capital rivals.

In front

The early goings of Sunday’s clash saw Chelsea work their way into proceedings, with the Blues taking more and more control as the half wore on.

And the positivity of Antonio Conte’s men paid off on the half-hour mark, when Victor Moses’ whipped cross from the right was headed home by Alvaro Morata, following a major misjudgement on the part of Hugo Lloris.

Worldie

However, a moment of magic from Christian Eriksen on the stroke of half-time meant that the sides headed in level at the break, after the Dane produced a goal of the season contender with a dipping, swerving effort from 30 yards.

1-3

And the turnaround was complete with just over an hour on the clock, as Dele Alli latched onto a lofted Eric Dier ball over the top of the Chelsea defence, with the English youngster taking the ball down with his first touch in sensational fashion, before lifting a perfect finish over the outstretched arm of Willy Caballero.

Incredibly, Alli was at it again 5 minutes later, after a burst down the Chelsea left from Heung-min Son saw Caballero make an important save, before a scrappy exchange in the Blues’ box eventually led to Alli slotting home into the bottom-left corner of the hosts’ goal.

Gesture

And Alli, who often comes in for criticism from fans and the media alike for his antics on the pitch, showcased his class in the aftermath of his match-winning showing on Sunday evening, making the day of a young Spurs’ fan who had made the trip to Stamford Bridge even more special:
