Bad day at the office
It wasn’t a great night for Tottenham and Dele Alli on Wednesday night when their second-half collapse sealed their exit from the Champions League.
Son Heung-min gave Mauricio Pochettino’s side some very big hope when he scored to put them in the driving seat.
While Juventus were denied a stonewall penalty, Spurs were the better side and pushed to make their advantage count.
Though, in the second half, that’s when it all crumbled.
The Italian giants too the game by the scruff of its neck and went in search of the equaliser, which came through Gonzalo Higuain.
The Argentine was found with a brilliant cross, providing the finishing touch from six yards out.
It got worse for Spurs as Paulo Dybala found himself one-on-one with Hugo Lloris, making no mistake to make it 2-1 on the night and 4-3 on aggregate.
Spurs attempted the fightback but it was too late, with Gianluigi Buffon, Giorgio Chiellini and Andrea Barzagli saving the day.
Alli’s photoshop treatment
Now, Dele Alli’s week has just been made even worse when he was given the photoshop treatment after he went over a Chiellini tackle.
While a foul was given and there was no doubt that it was an infringement, the way that Dele went over the tackle amused quite a few.
Safe to say, the internet had fun with this one!
