Luiz on his Chelsea future
In his two stints at Chelsea, David Luiz has racked up an impressive 235 appearances across all competitions.
In those 235 games Luiz has scored 17, assisted 12, won the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup.
Now though, the 30-year-old’s time at Stamford Bridge could be coming to an end.
Luiz is in the final year of his Chelsea deal that will run out in July of 2019.
However, despite his age, Luiz has suggested he and Chelsea are trying to work out a new contract.
When asked if he will sign a new deal, Luiz stated:
“I think so. We are talking with the club. Everybody knows I love this club, I feel comfortable here and am happy here. I am doing my job very well so I think a lot is going to happen.
“I have the job best job in the world so I have to be motivated every single day. I love football, if I didn’t love football I would not be playing anymore.” As quoted by the Evening Standard.
Dynamo Kyiv vs Chelsea
Luiz’s next game for Chelsea is likely to be on Thursday in the Europa League vs Dynamo Kyiv.
Maurizio Sarri’s side have a 3-0 lead after the first leg thanks to goals from Pedro, Willian and Callum Hudson-Odoi.
Despite the large lead though, Sarri is expecting a very tough game from the Ukrainian side:
“I think that mentally it is a very difficult match because we can undervalue the match and opponents, I know they are really dangerous.
“I saw their other matches in the Europa League. They played good football and a good match vs Olympiakos”

Sarri’s fear of an upset is hardly suspiring given the comebacks we have witnessed in Europe recently.
The latest of which saw Juventus overturn their two-goal deficit vs Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.
