David Alaba admits to being an Arsenal fan and opens door to move

Could David Alaba move to Arsenal?

Bayern Munich defender David Alaba has revealed his Arsenal allegiance as well as opening the door to a potential Premier League switch.

Alaba has been one of the best full-backs in world football for a number of years now.

While his prominence has faded slightly with Bayern faltering at times this season, Alaba is still very much in the top bracket of left-backs.

Having been at Bayern since 2011, you wouldn’t blame him for wanting to try something new before his career reaches its conclusion.

That’s exactly what he’s been speaking about today and has even hinted at a potential move to the Premier League and possibly Arsenal.

“Of course I can imagine seeing something else”

Speaking in an interview with BILD, as cited by the Mirror, Alaba was open to the possibility of leaving Bayern before the end of his career.

“I can imagine trying something else but I really feel very comfortable at Bayern,” Alaba explained.

“Every year there a new challenges and new objectives and the pressure will always be there. I’m happy in Munich but of course I can imagine seeing something else [in the future].”

Then, Alaba named his ideal destinations if he were to leave.

“Spain, England. In Spain it would be the two big clubs, I guess? Real or Barcelona. Also the big clubs [in England],” he continued.

Finally, when asked about being an Arsenal fan, Alaba admitted that he will be a fan for his ‘whole life’.

“Yes I was [and Arsenal fan as a child]. When you’ve been Arsenal fan as a kid you will be one your whole life in some way,” he concluded.

Reading between the lines, it’s not hard to see Alaba being attracted to a move to Arsenal should it become a possibility.
