Tottenham star Danny Rose has revealed what he was really worried about prior to the game against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.
The Englishman has started his recovery from injury and played a part during the clash in the Champions League.
Rose played the final 10 minutes of the game as he looked to gain some valuable minutes on the pitch.
Though the left-back was very worried going into the game for one reason and it involved the Spurs fans.
That is that he was not sure how they would react to him after his controversial comments during the summer.
Rose questioned the clubs ambition to sign big name players and that lead to a fine from the club and backlash from some fans.
Returning to action, the player was really unsure how fans would react after the comments and has admitted he was worried prior to the Madrid clash.
“My opinions will be voiced in a different way from now on. I’ve been disciplined and we move forward together as a club,” he explained.
“I did what I did. I was expecting a frosty reception from the fans so I just have to say thank you to them for giving me a great reception when I came on and when I was training on the pitch after the game.”
“I’m trying to look forward now for the rest of the season. First and foremost I have to try to win my shirt back.”
“[What I said has] gone now, my manager [Mauricio Pochettino] has forgotten about it and we all move forward and we try to win this club a trophy.”
The Danny Rose chant when he came on was pretty loud, and confirms that twitter is actually a pretty shit barometer for fans feelings.
