Danny Rose hits back at Ruud Gullit after Spurs vs Ajax comments

Rose has the last laugh

Tottenham defender Danny Rose has hit back at Ruud Gullit, after the Dutch legend questioned his technical ability following the north Londoners’ clash with Ajax last week.

Spurs were unable to best Ajax when they faced off in the first-leg of their Champions League semi-final clash.

Donny van de Beek’s goal gave Ajax an advantage, and the Dutch giants looked favourites to go through.

That led to Ruud Gullit harshly criticizing several of Tottenham’s players over their lack of technical ability.

“For me, a lot of players were disappointing because I see them every week in the Premier League,” Gullit explained on BeIN Sports, as cited by Football.London.

“Dele Alli, oh my God, technical wise, so bad. Wanyama, my God, Rose.”

Then came the second-leg.

Despite Ajax scoring two goals in the first-half, Tottenham came roaring back, racking up three goals in the second period to secure their place in the Champions League final, leaving Gullit with egg on his face.

“I hope he eats his words after tonight”

Now, Rose has hit back at Gullit over his comments, claiming he was ‘bang out of order’ and that he hopes ‘he eats his words after tonight’.

“You know, seeing people’s comments like Ruud Gullit after the first game and how rude he was, it’s nice that we fought back tonight and shut him up,” Rose explained after the game, as quoted by the Evening Standard.

“He was very critical of individual players and saying how bad we were technically and he’s bang out of order for that, so that was fuel to the fire.

“I hope he eats his words after tonight.”
