Daniel Levy green lights Tottenham to hijack Leicester’s Youri Tielemans deal

Tottenham & Youri Tielemans

The Telegraph have dropped a huge transfer rumour on Tuesday claiming Tottenham are ready to sign Youri Tielemans from Monaco.

Tielemans, a 21-year-old Belgian international, has struggled to impress at Monaco this season.

Despite his problems in Ligue 1, Tielemans still curries plenty of favour following his breakthrough at Anderlecht as a 16-year-old.

Tielemans has been linked with a move to Leicester, but the Telegraph now report that Tottenham are interested:

Tottenham Hotspur are weighing up a dramatic bid to try to hijack Leicester City’s move for Monaco midfielder Youri Tielemans.

In a significant statement from journalist Matt Law, it’s claimed that Daniel Levy is ready to sign Tielemans.

Tottenham’s deal maker is waiting for Mauricio Pochettino’s OK:

Sources at Monaco claim Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is willing to sanction the move and is now just waiting on the green light from manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Bad news for Leicester City

If Spurs snare Tielemans from Monaco it will be a blow to Leicester City.

The Leicester Mercury claimed yesterday that the Foxes had tabled an offer around 20 million pounds for Tielemans.

Others, however, reported that Leicester looking to explore a loan or swap deal for Tielemans involving Adrien Silva.

Why is Tielemans leaving Monaco?

It’s been a crazy few weeks at Monaco as Thierry Henry as left the club after just a few months in the dugout.

In a case of back to the future, Leonardo Jardim is once again the Monaco manager.

While Tielemans was a consistent starter for Henry, it’s believed that Jardim isn’t such a fan of a Belgian.

Monaco are staring Ligue 1 relegation in the face as they sit second bottom of the league.
