Dani Alves responds to Diego Forlan following PSG set-piece controversy

Shots returned

Paris Saint Germain defender Dani Alves has responded to Diego Forlan in an incredible way after the forward criticised the Brazilian.

Alves was accused of backing his teammate Neymar Jr during a game against Lyon in which the player snatched the ball off Edinson Cavani for a free-kick.

Cavani clearly wanted the set-piece but Alves was seen to refuse him the chance, only for Neymar to come in and some suggested Alves was holding onto it for his friend.

Though Dani Alves has now responded to those claims that he was part of Neymar’s play to overthrow Cavani, instead he was actually the victim.

Responding to a tweet from COPE that quoted Forlan, Alves responded: “I don’t know what game you all saw but I did not take the ball away from my teammate they took it from me!”

While the player also wanted to respond to taking the ball away from Cavani, he also made sure to get a shot in there before his comment was done.

Alves explained: “And just so you know, the last PSG free kick goal was scored by me… so shut the f*ck up and stop using my name for controversy.”

Safe to say, Forlan will not be commenting on Dani Alves and PSG anytime soon!

Cavani on the move?

While it may be premature, there have been reports this week stating that many clubs are monitoring Cavani’s situation.

The player stormed out following the game in which Neymar and Dani Alves both angered him which wasn’t good for Unai Emery.

Now, two Premier League clubs have had their names thrown into the mix with one club an extremely unexpected suitor.
