Ahead of schedule
Crystal Palace have been handed a very big Wilfred Zaha boost today ahead of their clash with Manchester United at the weekend.
The Ivorian has been out with injury for the past month and Palace will want the player back as soon as possible.
The forward has become one of the best players outside of the top six clubs and is pivotal to Crystal Palace’s survival.
Though, his time on the sidelines has really started to affect the side with Roy Hodgson’s side without a win in five.
Now, Roy Hodgson has confirmed that the player is ahead of schedule but refused to admit when that schedule is.
“He is ahead of schedule. The medical staff are quite surprised at how quickly he has recovered from a serious injury, but it is still a while away before we can be certain that he is going to return earlier than planned,” he explained.
“At the moment his running is pretty much in straight lines and we have not tested out those difficult things that need testing out for knee ligament injuries like twisting and turning, and contact with other players.”
The club have also had some serious injury problems on the goalkeeping front.
That has left them without many options but to go into the free market for a goalkeeper.
Now they have found the man that they want to bring in and have reached an agreement.
That comes in the form of Diego Cavalieri.
“It is a question of the paperwork. It is moving in the right direction, as far as I know.”
