Crystal Palace vs West Ham betting tips: Premier League match preview and predictions

Crystal Palace vs West Ham prediction: Crystal Palace 2-1 West Ham

Two London clubs separated by just two places in the table.

Both were delighted with their respective results last weekend so who will build on that here?

Should be an entertaining matchup.

Michy Batshuayi impressed on his Palace debut last Saturday. The Belgian is 11/2 to break the deadlock and 2/1 to get his first goal for his new club anytime.

Javier Hernández may well lead the line for the visitors. Chicharito is 5/1 to score first and 9/5 to get his fifth of the season.

Both Batshuayi and Hernández to score is 9/1.

Both Batshuayi and Zaha to score is also 9/1.

Both Arnautović and Hernández to score is 8/1.

Crystal Palace vs West Ham United: Match preview

Crystal Palace are pulling away from danger.

Last weekend, goals from Luka Milivojević and Jeffrey Schlupp saw them beat Fulham 2-0; their first win in 4 games.

That result saw them climb up to 14th in the table but they remain just 4 points above the drop zone.

In December, they lost a thriller 3-2 at the London Stadium.

Can they get revenge and secure back to back Premier League wins for just the second time this season?

As for West Ham, they may be just two places above their opponents but they are actually 6 points better off.

On Monday night, the Hammers came from a goal down to draw 1-1 with then league leaders Liverpool at home.

That was a much needed point because they’d been terrible in defeats at Bournemouth, Wimbledon and Wolves in their previous 3 matches.

The Hammers do find themselves 12th but there is only a 4 point gap to 8th.

Will they leave South London victorious?

Roy Hodgson has some selection headaches ahead of this match.

He now has 4 senior goalkeepers in his squad.

Vicente Guaita appears to have established himself as the number 1 ahead of Wayne Hennessey.

They also have veteran Julián Speroni, who made a couple of appearances last month, and Lucas Perri who joined on loan from São Paulo in January.

Their back 4 rarely changes.

Right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka has made more tackles than anybody else in Europe’s top 5 leagues (91).

James Tomkins will line up against the side he spent 19 years with after joining as an 8-year old.

Cheikhou Kouyaté will not play against his former side though. He has an ankle injury.

They played 4-4-2 against Fulham last weekend, but it seems likely they’ll revert to a more solid 4-3-3.

That would see Max Meyer come back in.

Further forward, they have an array of options.

Wilfried Zaha was suspended last weekend but will come straight back into the side.

That’s if he’s actually available.

He was handed an extra match suspension after sarcastically applauding the referee at Southampton.

However, the suspension is not currently effective while the player considers his right of appeal, so Zaha may yet be available for selection.

Jeffrey Schlupp, who scored last weekend, will be the man to fill Zaha’s void if he is eventually banned.

It’ll be one from three through the middle.

Christian Benteke and Jordan Ayew started as a front two in that match.

However, Michy Batshuayi’s cameo should be enough to have earned him a start.

Will their attacking talent be too much for West Ham?

As for Manuel Pellegrini’s side, after an excellent performance on Monday, there is no reason to change.

In fact, an unchanged line up is expected.

Łukasz Fabiański has been so reliable in goal; he’s made 97 saves which is more than anybody else in the Premier League.

Ryan Fredericks’ mobility saw him get a rare start ahead of Pablo Zabaleta on Monday and, up against Zaha, the same might happen here.

The Hammers do have a lengthy injury list at the moment.

Centre-backs Fabián Balbuena and Winston Reid could both be back at some point this month.

In midfield they’re without Jack Wilshere, Carlos Sánchez, Samir Nasri, Manuel Lanzini and Andriy Yarmolenko who are all injured.

At 31 Mark Noble’s fitness will have to be assessed so Pedro Obiang could be rotated in.

Up front, he hasn’t played for a month but he remains the man in focus.

Marko Arnautović did not join Shànghǎi SIPG in January and instead signed a new contract a fortnight ago.

However, he hasn’t been seen since.

If he’s available, he’ll start.

If not, Javier Hernández will continue to lead the line.

Will this side get their fifth away win of the season?
