Crystal Palace on alert as Yannick Bolasie told he has no future at Everton

According to The Mirror, Crystal Palace are monitoring Yannick Bolasie’s situation at Everton after the winger was told he has no future in Marco Silva’s squad.

Bolasie could well be left out of Silva’s 25 man squad and as a result, he is edging closer to a move away with his former club, Crystal Palace keen.

Skilful winger

Bolasie made his name in the lower leagues of English football.

He signed for Plymouth in July of 2008 and went on to play 52 games for them, in which he scored eight and assisted two.

Bolasie also enjoyed a spell at Barnet, playing 46 games, scoring five and assisting four.

The 29-year-old then signed for Bristol City in 2011 and played 25 games for them before signing for Crystal Palace in 2012 for a fee in the region of £576,000.

Bolasie played 144 games for Palace, in which he scored 13 and assisted 30 before his current club Everton signed him in 2016 for a fee of around £26 million.

However, Bolasie has struggled for form at Everton, in part to his injury problems and it now looks as though he could be on his way out of Goodison Park this summer.

A Jekyll and Hyde season for Palace

The 2017/18 season for Crystal Palace was very much up and down. They started the season by picking up zero points from their first seven league games.

During those seven games, Palace would also fail to score a single goal, a new league record.

However, once Roy Hodgson took over Palace’s form dramatically improved, Hodgson picked up a 2-1 win vs Chelsea in his first game in charge of Palace.

From there, Palace grew in confidence and would finish the 2017/18 season in 11th place, not bad considering they lost their first seven games and were clear favourites to go down.

Now, however, Palace are keen to strengthen their squad this summer in order to make sure they have a much better start to their 2018/19 campaign.
