Cristiano Ronaldo won’t be jetting off on his private plane for the time being after it crash landed in Barcelona on Monday evening. The plane was arriving at El Prat airport when its landing gear broke upon impact on the runway. Of course, Ronaldo wasn’t on the plane.
He was in Germany at the time with his Real Madrid teammates. The club was preparing for their Tuesday night Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund.
As Spanish outlet Sport reported, The Gulfstream G200 Cristiano Ronaldo was let down by a faulty hydraulic clamping left brake. None of Ronaldo’s family was on the plane either. The business-savvy superstar rents the £15 million plan out to be private companies when he’s not using it. Nobody was injured in the accident.
Emergency services arrived at the scene immediately and cordoned off the area. At the time of writing, there’s no estimate on the damage. Ronaldo probably has the plane insured anyway.
