Cristiano Ronaldo Man of the Match

31-year-old Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo answered his critics on the pitch today, scoring two and assisting the other in a thrilling 3-3 draw between Portugal and Hungary.

Having come from behind on three occasions, the crucial point secured qualification to the knockout rounds where they will face an in-form Croatia side.

Despite Portugal failing to win a single group game (against Iceland, Austria & Hungary), users on Twitter heaped praise on Cristiano Ronaldo following his Man of the Match performance.

Journalists forbidden from asking Ronaldo any questions

Despite answering his critics on the pitch, Cristiano Ronaldo did not answer questions from journalists in his post match press conference.

It perhaps had something to do with the incident earlier today, which saw Cristiano Ronaldo angrily throw a TV reporter’s microphone into a lake.

A UEFA official let journalists know that they could not ask questions and the decision was met with uproar by the journalists in attendance.

Cristiano Ronaldo eventually arrived at his presser 80 minutes after the full time whistle and claimed “I decide nothing“. It is the first press conference at Euro 2016 where journalists weren’t allowed to ask questions. See some tweets below.
