Don’t do it
Harry Kane may now be considered one of the best forwards in the world, but according to Cristiano Ronaldo, buying him for Real Madrid would be a bad idea.
That’s the opinion the former Manchester United player formed last night, when Real took on Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League and ended up drawing 1-1 at home, and it seems that Ronaldo might want another forward as a back up to Karim Benzema, but he doesn’t want someone who will come in as a marquee signing, first choice and displace him.
Diario Gol claim that Ronaldo loves playing with Benzema and does not want to see him benched.
One thing that Ronaldo has made clear is he wants Real Madrid to sign another forward.
After losing Alvaro Morata to Chelsea in the summer, Ronaldo thinks the club should’ve done far more in the transfer market, and the fact they haven’t could well end up costing them titles.
Given they struggled in La Liga while he was suspended and Karim Benzema was fighting off injury – not to mention the fact Gareth Bale is as unreliable as ever, he could well be right, with Mayoral not thought to be good enough and Asensio still very young to carry such pressure on his shoulders.
However, according to Ronaldo, the player they need is not Harry Kane – and that seems to be a huge boost to Spurs given the power Ronaldo has at the Bernabeu and how much Florentino Perez and Zidane will listen to him when it comes to making decisions over their transfer policy.
