Cristiano Ronaldo speaks out following Manchester United’s managerial change

Cristiano Ronaldo has taken to Instagram to send a message to both Michael Carrick and Ralf Rangnick after the latter took the Manchester United reins from Carrick on Friday.

Ralf Rangnick to take charge

Michael Carrick did a superb job as Manchester United’s caretaker manager. The former midfielder earned the Red Devils a place in the Champions League knockout rounds, courtesy of a 2-0 win over Villarreal.

Then, despite being heavy underdogs for the tie, Carrick helped United to secure a 1-1 draw with Premier League table-toppers Chelsea. And finally, in what was his final act as United’s caretaker boss, the Englishman managed to earn a 3-2 win over Arsenal on Thursday, before leaving the club shortly after the game:

Ralf Rangnick is now in charge of the Manchester powerhouse for the remainder of the season.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s message

On the back of the managerial shake-up, Cristiano Ronaldo has taken to social media to send a message to both of the aforementioned figures.

First, Ronaldo would praise Carrick, stating that he is proud to have played alongside the midfielder, and to have been managed by him.

Then, the Portuguese would welcome Ralf Rangnick to the club:

Michael Carrick was a class act as a player and he can become a great coach as well. Nothing is impossible for this guy. Personally, I’m proud to have played with him by my side as well as with him as a manager on our bench. But now it’s time to welcome Mister Ralf Rangnick to the wheel… Let’s get started!
