Cristiano Ronaldo is set to break the record for most Champions League goals scored in a calendar year.
Over the past 11 months, the 32-year-old netted 16 times in the competition.
The Portuguese captain has two games remaining to surpass his own record of 16 goals, which he managed in both 2015 and 2017.
Goal number 17
Ronaldo must score against either APOEL Nicosia on Tuesday or against Borussia Dortmund on December 6.
He netted twice versus Spurs in the two meetings and scored a further four goals against APOEL and Dortmund.
He currently leads the goal-scoring in the Champions League this season, with six, one ahead of Tottenham’s Harry Kane.
Ronaldo also scored against Juventus in the 2017 Champions League final, in which Los Blancos won 4-1, claiming their 11th title.
During the 2013-14 season, the former Manchester United winger set the record for most goals in a single campaign, scoring 17 times.

With a 1.82% conversion rate, this season has been far from CR7’s most stellar…
His woeful form has also impacted upon Madrid, who find themselves third, trailing league leaders Barcelona by ten points.

Atletico Madrid 0-0 Real Madrid
A goalless draw in the Spanish capital saw the title hopes of both sides significantly reduce and Barcelona watched on in celebration.
Both team now subsequently trail Barca by ten points and high-flying Valencia by six.
The only real major incident at the Wanda Metropolitano was Real captain being left with a broken nose.
Los Blancos’ captain received an accidental kick to the head from Atletico defender Lucas Hernandez.
