Who was Cristiano Ronaldo criticising?
Real Madrid suffered a big blow to their La Liga title hopes on Wednesday, losing 2-1 to struggling Valencia.
Los Blancos were expected to go to Valencia and extend their lead at the top of La Liga, with Valencia away one of their games in hand on the chasing pack.
What transpired was a poor performance with Valencia going 2-0 up in the first 10 minutes.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored for Real Madrid with a trademark header but Los Blancos could not find an equaliser despite dominating the second half at the Mestalla.
“I scored the goal, what did you do?”
Video has emerged from Spanish website Cuatro showing an angry Ronaldo throughout much of the Valencia defeat.
Ronaldo had a strong penalty appeal turned down in the second half but the key moment happened at the end of the game.
The Real Madrid superstar was seen saying: “Yo he marcado gol, ¿tú qué haces?”
Which translates to: “I scored the goal, what did you do?”
Who was Cristiano Ronaldo talking to?
Ronaldo said this as he headed towards the tunnel but it is not clear which Real Madrid team mate he aimed this barb at.
It seems unlikely that Ronaldo was aiming this at James Rodriguez who was off the pitch at the time, whilst Gareth Bale only came on for the final half an hour.
Karim Benzema is surely the most likely candidate as he played for 90 minutes, had a poor game and is enduring a frustrating season.
Other potential candidates include Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Toni Kroos or Casemiro.
