England 1 – Italy 1
After beating Holland 1-0 last Froday night, England scored a 1-1 draw with Italy at Wembley this week.
The Three Lions took the lead through Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy in the first half.
Jesse Lingard took a quick free-kick in the Italian half, while Vardy made no mistake in front of goal.
Italy levelled in the final minutes from the penalty spot as Lorenzo Insigne equalised.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Jamie Vardy & the Nike problem
Following the Italy game, many people have picked up on Jamie Vardy’s footwear in the game.
Vardy wore a pair of white Cristiano Ronaldo branded boots against the Azzurri.
And, according to the Daily Mail, Vardy’s CR7 boots were worn following a feud between the Leicester star and Nike:
Jamie Vardy has been buying his own boots following a disagreement with sponsors Nike.
The England man, who scored in Tuesday night’s 1-1 draw with Italy, split his usual pair in Leicester City’s 2-1 defeat at Everton on January 31.
It is understood that Nike wanted to replace them with a new style of boot, which the 31-year-old is not thought to be a fan of.
It is understood Vardy, whose contract with Nike is set to expire at the end of the season, will keep wearing the CR7s until further notice.
Brighton vs Leicester
Leicester are back in Premier League action on Saturday when they travel to Brighton.
The Foxes are eighth in the division, while Brighton are down in 12th.
When the sides met earlier in the season, Leicester beat Brighton 2-0 at the King Power Stadium.
Shinji Okazaki opened the scoring inside sixty seconds. Harry Maguire sealed the win in the second half.
