Man United’s 2021/22

Manchester United have not had the best of starts to 2021/22.

The Red Devils have already lost twice in the Premier League this term, including a 4-2 defeat vs Leicester last weekend.

Elsewhere, Man United were knocked out of the League Cup in the 3rd round, lost to Young Boys in the Champions League and, most recently, barely scrapped a win over Atalanta.

Man United are also facing off with Liverpool in the PL this weekend, a side they have not beaten in the league since back in 2018.

Cristiano Ronaldo speaks out on his Manchester United role

Around two months ago, however, Man United fans were likely not expecting to have had such an underwhelming start to the season, especially after signing Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo over the summer.

Now though, Ronaldo has been speaking and suggested that Man United may need some time to adapt after signing three players:

“We are in a moment in my opinion that Manchester (United) do a few changes; they buy me, they buy (Raphael) Varane and (Jadon) Sancho.

“The adaptation will take time, even the system of the game that we play, but I think step by step we have to put it in our mind that everything is possible.

“I don’t speak only about my individual stuff, I put the collective in first place. To win things as a collective, it’s more easy to win individual stuff, I still think it’s possible.”

Ronaldo then added that everyone should know their role, before going on to describe his role at Man United:

“Everyone should know their role.

“I know my role in the team, in the club… my role is to score goals, to help the team with my experience and know-how to understand the game.

“If everyone is thinking like that, sacrifice for the team, I think we will be a better team. We have fantastic supporters behind us, fantastic stadium, fantastic team, so we have to carry on like that.”
