Cristiano Ronaldo discusses how his body is affecting his career

The decline into retirement?

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo still remains at the top of world football but has admitted that it is starting to get harder now.

The Portuguese star has been unable to recapture his usual fantastic form this season which has even cast doubts over his Madrid future.

Having only scored a hand full of goals in La Liga season, his form is one of the many reasons for Real Madrid’s slip in Spain.

Manchester United have even been linked with a sensational move for the player but whether that comes off is yet to be seen.

In the meantime though, Ronaldo has been discussing how his body doesn’t work the same way it did 10 years ago.

He could now be on the short path to retirement but he’s making it work for now.

‘Life is a continuous challenge from every point of view,’ Ronaldo explained.

‘It is very interesting, especially for a sportsman.

‘I try to be at my peak physical level because it is very important for my profession.

‘I have to be at 100 per cent and I take it very seriously.

‘Now, I don’t do the same things I did 10 years ago. To maintain yourself at this level you must make sacrifices.

‘I can no longer do certain things, surely I cannot do the things I did when I was 20 years old.

‘We must always find a balance. Even the small details make a difference.’

Cristiano Ronaldo’s bizarre argument with a cameraman during Levante 2 – Real Madrid 2

It’s not been a great couple of weeks for Ronaldo either after Madrid’s clash with Levante.

The side were 2-1 up going into the final ten minutes and Ronaldo was visibly confident.

He then made a gesture to the cameraman which stunned the world when Levante equalised.
