Name on the Champions League trophy?
Leicester’s Jekyll and Hyde Season
Leicester are experiencing an extremely Jekyll and Hyde season.
The Premier League champions look ramshackle in the league, and their title defence is essentially over without so much as a whimper.
They’ve already lost to Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United, and realistically will be just hoping to finish the league season with some dignity at this stage, and would probably take a midtable finish if offered.
But it’s the complete opposite story in the Champions League, which they qualified for the first time by winning the league last season.
By beating FC Copenhagen tonight, they’ve more or less booked their place in the last 16 of the competition – 10 points is generally enough to qualify, and they already have 9 with three group games left.
More CL points than Premier League
In fact, they actually have more Champions League points (9) than Premier League (8).
And they’ve had 8 Premier League games, while they’ve played just 3 times in Europe’s elite competition.
Anyone would think they’re trying harder in Europe than in the league this season…
Leicester currently with more CL points than PL points in late October. Deep deep respect.
