Chelsea’s defeat was sealed by a second half strike from Diego Perotti.
Thibaut Courtois slams Antonio Rudiger
After the match, Chelsea goalie Thibaut Courtois was asked to break down why the Blues were so poor in the Champions League.
Courtois, looking deflated, tried to assert that Chelsea were “unfortunate” in the Roma game, admitting the Blues failed to take their chances in front of goal.
The moment of the match which seemed stuck in Courtois’s head after the game was El Shaarawy’s second.
The Belgium international discussed how he tried to warn Rudiger of the imminent danger, “but maybe he understood something else”.
