Confirmed: Tottenham sign Ryan Sessegnon & Giovani Lo Celso

Tottenham & Lo Celso

After going two transfer windows without a single first-team signing, Tottenham have finally decided to splash the cash this summer.

Spurs had already brought in Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon and Jack Clarke from Leeds United earlier in the window, with Clarke having returned to Leeds on loan for the season.

However, the north London club didn’t stop there, as they completed two signings on deadline day.

The first of these is Giovani Lo Celso, who is moving from Spanish outfit Real Betis.

Lo Celso had an outstanding 2018/19 with Betis, scoring 16 and assisting six in 46 appearances across all competitions.

Spurs announced that they have signed the Argentine on a season-long loan with option to buy:

Tottenham & Sessegnon

The second player whom Spurs managed to bring in on Thursday was Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon.

Sessegnon is just 19 years of age, but has already shown his talent whilst at Craven Cottage.

Sessegnon was a standout star for Fulham during their promotion-winning season, and while he didn’t impress too much last year in a struggling Cottagers’ side, he should develop well under Mauricio Pochettino.

Sessegnon also gives Spurs a few options, as he can play both as a left-back and as a winger.

The north London club have stated that Sessegnon has signed a contract until 2025, and will wear the number 19 shirt.

Reliable BBC Sport journalist David Ornstein has reported that Spurs have paid an initial £25m fee for Sessegnon, which could rise to £30m.
