Confirmed: Gabriel Jesus pens new long term Man City deal

New deal

Manchester City’s summer has taken a turn for the better after young star Gabriel Jesus penned a new, long term contract with them.

It’s fair to say Guardiola is building a team for the future and wants to get the best players into the club and keep the ones they already have – and Jesus could well end up being one of the best players in the world, and is certainly a highlight of the Premier League already.

He’s committed to the club until 2023, and has said manager Pep Guardiola is a huge reason he decided to remain with the Citizens.

He said to the club’s official website:  “I would like to thank the fans for the welcome and for how well they have treated me.

“I can say that it was the best decision I’ve made in my life to come to Manchester City because whilst I’m here I’m improving as a professional and as a person.

“Also thanks to the Club for being so organised and focused since I arrived. Pep had an important role in my signing, but also the Club. City is a huge Club and it is getting bigger and bigger so I just want to say thanks for everything. I hope that I can keep making the fans happy.”

Titles

City have already got Premier League titles under their belt, but the major thing they need to do at the minute is make sure they add a Champions League.

After a summer of disappointment with Brazil, Jesus will be keen to get back to Man City and add said titles to his cabinet, and will be a key player for Guardiola as he looks to do just that, and push them on to being not just the best club in Premier League, but the best club in Europe.
