during the Carabao Cup Third Round match between Chelsea and Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge on September 19, 2017 in London, England.

Ampadu sent out on loan

With Frank Lampard now at the helm and Chelsea unable to sign any players for two windows, Ampadu may have been hoping to get a bit more first-team experience this season.

However, the Welshman will not be getting it in England.

Instead, German outfit RB Leipzig have announced on July 22nd that they have secured the services of Ampadu on loan for the season.

On signing for RB Leipzig, Ampadu stated:

“I’m really happy to be wearing the RB Leipzig jersey now. I have heard a lot about the club and am convinced that the way football is played here suits me very well.

“I already know some of my new teammates: I’ve already played with Jean-Kévin Augustin in Paris, with Dayot Upamecano and Nordi Mukiele in the French U21 national team.

“Therefore, I am optimistic that I can come here quickly. As quoted by RB Leipzig’s official website.
