Concern for Man United: Cody Gakpo’s updated price-tag revealed

A fresh insight into the future of alleged Manchester United transfer target Cody Gakpo has been provided late on Thursday evening.

Gakpo, of course, has seen his name cast firmly into the spotlight over the course of the last couple of weeks.

This comes with the explosive wide-man having built on a scintillating opening to the campaign at club level by announcing himself firmly onto the world stage, too.

Across appearances in each of the Netherlands’ World Cup group stage fixtures, Gakpo clinched a spot atop the Golden Boot charts, courtesy of a trio of goals.

The already-rampant speculation surrounding his future beyond January, in turn, has only continued to mount.

More than one outlet on the continent even went as far as to suggest that Gakpo is all set to make the move to England, after the powers that be at Manchester United struck a big-money deal with PSV Eindhoven for his services.

Such claims have since been firmly denied, but, as alluded to above, on Thursday, the powers that be at Old Trafford have been provided with a fresh insight into the kind of outlay likely to be required to lure a key target away from his home country.

The info comes courtesy of Foot Mercato, as cited by Anfield Watch.

After it was previously suggested that Gakpo could be available for as little as £40 million, it is now alleged that any and all interested clubs will be quoted a price-tag of £65 million by the PSV hierarchy.
