Concern for Arsenal: Latest on Ozil, Bellerin, Kolasinac & more ahead of Everton

Arsenal have this afternoon provided fitness updates on a number of the club’s stars, ahead of their upcoming meeting with Everton.

Everton vs Arsenal

The Gunners are set for a trip to Goodison Park tomorrow afternoon, for a Premier League clash.

Both sides will head into proceedings with interim managers in charge.

Hosts Everton are still under the guidance of Duncan Ferguson, despite Carlo Ancelotti’s predicted imminent appointment.

Arsenal, on the other hand, actually named their new permanent boss earlier today.

The board at the Emirates opted for a former Gunners star, in the form of Mikel Arteta, as the man to lead the club forward into a new era.

The Spaniard, though, will not begin his new role until Sunday, meaning Freddie Ljungberg will once again be in charge for Arsenal’s trip to Goodison Park.

As things stand, the north Londoners sit 10th in the Premier League table, 4 points clear of 16th-placed Everton.

Arsenal’s left-back woes

The Gunners’ hopes of putting further distance between themselves and their opponents tomorrow, though, have not been at all aided by the club’s fortunes on the personnel front.

A post on Arsenal’s official website earlier today provided updates on the fitness of 7 first-team stars.

Sead Kolasinac has joined fellow left-back Kieran Tierney on the sidelines, posing a major problem for Freddie Ljungberg.

Elsewhere, Dani Ceballos is also not yet fit to return.

All of Hector Bellerin, Rob Holding and Mesut Ozil are labelled as doubts to feature versus Everton, with the only positive news on the injury front for Arsenal coming in the form of Granit Xhaka’s return from concussion:

Hector Bellerin
Tight right hamstring. Being assessed ahead of Everton (a).

Dani Ceballos
Left hamstring. Sustained during Vitoria SC (a) on November 6. Will miss Everton (a). Aiming to return to full training next week.

Rob Holding
