Former club star claims one player is “lucky he gets to play for Man United”

One Manchester United legend has claimed that Henrikh Mkhitaryan is “lucky he gets to play for Manchester United” in a huge claim.

The Armenian international has been struggling this season, much as he did when he first arrived in Manchester.

The player signed from Borussia Dortmund and really struggled to hit form for the majority of his first season.

Though, Mkhitaryan eventually hit some kind of form and was pivotal in the clubs Europa League glory.

Now, he’s back to struggling at Old Trafford and has been left out of several squads in recent weeks.

Phil Neville has certainly not sugar-coated the problems of the player, almost slamming him.

“Yes, they’ve spent a lot on players but maybe there are fewer and fewer players of that mentality available,” Neville explained.

“You need to have them in the spine of your team.”

“There’s a lot of criticism of Jose’s treatment of Henrikh Mkhitaryan but he ultimately didn’t deliver when he’s played.”

“He’s not unlucky, he’s lucky he gets to play for United.”

“Under Sir Alex [Ferguson], if I didn’t perform I wasn’t in the team. People need to stop sugar-coating it.”

“If you don’t perform then you don’t get in the team or a new contract, it’s not Jose being personal, it’s business.”

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is already planning to leave Manchester United in the January transfer window.

The Armenian has seemingly given up all hope of staying in the side consistently and is looking for a side to do just that.

He even looks to have found the side he wants to transfer to and agent Mino Raiola is now putting plans in place.
