Club Brugge interested in Tottenham’s Victor Wanyama – HLN

Could Wanyama be on the move?

Belgian side Club Brugge are reportedly interested in signing Tottenham’s Victor Wanyama, amid the midfielder’s struggles for game-time.

Wanyama joined Spurs back in 2016 from Southampton, and initially struck up a pretty decent partnership with Mousa Dembele.

However, a serious knee injury has caused him to miss a lot of game-time, including the majority of the last campaign.

During his time away from the squad, Spurs have strengthened their midfield with some pretty big names.

Having signed Tanguy Ndombele during the summer, all of Moussa Sissoko, Harry Winks, Eric Dier and Ndombele occupy Wanyama’s position.

As a result, he could now leave the club, with Club Brugge reportedly interested in signing the Kenyan.

Brugge ‘bets’ on Wanyama deal

According to a report from reliable Belgian source HLN, Club Brugge are interested in signing Wanyama.

Their report explains: ‘It will take a serious financial effort, but Club Brugge bets on Victor Wanyama, 28-year-old defending midfielder from Tottenham.’

According to HLN, Wanyama would be allowed to leave Spurs.

However, they note that Wanyama would not come cheap for Brugge.

That’s mainly down to Daniel Levy, who they claim is ‘the type that the other party must turn over and hold by the legs to shake the last pound out of the bags’.

HLN claim that ‘we now have to wait and see’ what comes of the negotiations, though the Simon Mignolet transfer shows that Brugge could have the financial means to do a deal.

Tottenham ‘agree’ Georges-Kevin Nkoudou sale to Besiktas

Wanyama isn’t the only fringe player who could leave Tottenham before the European transfer window closes.

That’s because Georges-Kévin Nkoudou could also depart Spurs.

According to reports, he could be headed to Turkey with Besiktas.
