Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has offered his support to Alexis Sanchez, despite missing out on the Arsenal player.
It seems as though Alexis is Manchester United bound and while it seems City missed out as they were unwilling to pay the money being asked by the player, his agent and Arsenal, United are set to profit, and Pep thinks that he is a good player and wishes him luck – though considering he’s gone to their direct rivals, it’s probably not too much luck, especially when the sides meet.
Sky Sports report he said: “I am not the guy with the mathematics, the numbers.
“What I know right now is Alexis is still an Arsenal player. I think he is going to go to United so congratulations to both of them.
“In the end, the players and managers decide where they want to play. Good luck.”
Of course, had Alexis decided to join Manchester City, he would have been joining the club who look set to win the Premier League.
While he can play for Manchester United in the Champions League given he’s not cup tied after only featuring in the Europa League this term, it seems as though the player has missed out on the chance to be part of a title winning team – this season at least.
For their part, City are confident they can get the job done without Alexis, and it’s hard to blame them given their commanding lead at the top of the table and the fact they’ve done so well.
The loss to Liverpool was their first one this season, and manager Pep Guardiola will be looking to bounce back from that and make sure that at the very least, the club manage to win the Premier League – and possibly more this term.
