Christian Benteke confirms his Crystal Palace comeback schedule

Christian Benteke & Crystal Palace

Back in the dark days before the Chelsea win, Crystal Palace were thumped 5-0 at Man City.

During the City game Palace’s record signing, 30 million pound striker Christian Benteke, had to be taken off in the second half.

It was soon confirmed that Benteke had suffered ligament damage, and the striker was ruled out for six weeks.

On Tuesday, the Belgium international has given an update on his health status.

Benteke has confirmed his recovery is going well:

The rehab is going well and I am really happy with the way that my ligament is healing.

The striker expects to be back within a few weeks.

Games Benteke will miss

On the premise that Benteke will miss another three weeks, the striker will be unavailable for games against Newcastle United, Bristol City, West Ham, and possible Tottenham away on November 5.

He could target his return in the match at Selhurst Park against Everton on November 18.

Massive performance today from the lads! Great to see my man @wilfriedzaha back on the pitch #CPFC

Next up is Newcastle

Palace will be hoping to register more Premier League points next weekend when they travel to Newcastle.

Newcastle are ninth in the Premier League, but their on a three game winless run.

Last weekend they drew 2-2 away at Southampton.

While Benteke will miss the Magpies game, Ruben Loftus-Cheek should return to the line up after he had to miss the Chelsea game.

Wayne Hennessey should also recover from a calf injury, but will he dislodge Julian Speroni in the Palace goal?
