Loftus-Cheek’s limited game time at Chelsea
Ruben Loftus-Cheek has spent all of his career with Chelsea.
However, despite that he has only managed to make 41 appearances for their first team, many of which have came as a sub.
Loftus-Cheek would spend the 2017/18 campaign on loan at Crystal Palace.
During his stint at Palace Loftus-Cheek made 25 appearances, scored two and assisted five.
His impressive displays for Palace also earned him a place in Gareth Southgate’s 2018 World Cup squad.
Despite a good 2017/18 season, Loftus-Cheek once again finds himself warming the Chelsea bench.
Even as a bit part player this season, Loftus-Cheek has been very impressive.
The 22-year-old has made nine appearances across all competitions and scored five goals.
The latest of which helped Chelsea secure a 2-0 win over Fulham on Sunday.
But despite proving himself in his limited game time, Maurizio Sarri still refuses to give the Englishman a regular run in the side.
Several clubs keen on loaning Loftus-Cheek
Loftus-Cheek has himself been asked about his limited game time and a potential loan move, to which he responded:
“I try not to think too much about the future. I can’t think that far ahead [to the end of the season], I can only think about what’s happening right now. It is a difficult period coming up where we have to be fully focused.”
But according to The Guardian, Loftus-Cheek is said to be weighing up the option of a loan move this January.
According to The Mirror, a host of clubs such as Crystal Palace, Bournemouth, Wolves and Schalke are interested in loaning Loftus-Cheek.
